speaking on Podcast by Peter CrouchAaron Ramsdale has discussed Alisson Becker and his style of play at Liverpool.

The Brazilian, like many South Americans, is a bit of a flair player, but the difference with Alisson is that he’s a goalkeeper.

The Liverpool number one is no stranger to Cruyff’s odd cornering or passing but, of course, when you’re a goalkeeper there’s absolutely no margin for error when trying these tricks.

Ramsdale admires Alisson’s ability, and he says he can tell how much the Liverpool coaching staff trusts the Brazilian to play in his unique way.

Alisson spoke about his admiration for Alisson.

“Look at Ederson for Man City, the number of times he is outside the penalty area to play against his centre-halves and one of his defenders is in midfield. Alisson isn’t as tall but a few years ago he kicked a ball over the head of a striker. It wouldn’t happen and it shouldn’t happen but he has this confidence and it’s the belief the coaching staff has given him to say ‘go play’ I don’t look at goalkeepers like that meaning, I look more at their mentality and I look at the best in the world for me, like Neuer, he doesn’t care,” Ramsdale said.

Of confidence

Ramsdale can tell how much Alisson trusts Liverpool, and it’s there for all to see.

Usually if a goalkeeper attempts tricks in his own penalty area the manager and his staff will be on the verge of having a heart attack, but at Liverpool there is an element of calm whenever Alisson is on the ball, even if pressed hard. .

The goalkeeper is as good as any footballer with the ball at his feet, and he has proven time and time again that he can be trusted to play in that unique way with the ball at his feet.
