Arsenal are looking for a new striker this summer, but contrary to rumours, one man they could avoid is Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca.
Reports have recently claimed that Scamacca is on the radar of Mikel Arteta, who is keen to bring in a new striker, possibly two, this summer. Scamacca, who did well in Italy with Sassuolo, would have emerged as an alternative target to the much-linked Gabriel Jesus.
However, according to a report by Athleticism today, Arsenal are not totally convinced when it comes to Scamacca.

Athleticism explains how some of Arsenal’s managers have reservations about the great striker. It is claimed that while Scamacca is firmly within the Gunners’ budget, there are doubts over his suitability and style when it comes to the current Arsenal squad. With that, it’s suggested that any sort of move for Scamacca is on the back burner until the club get a definitive answer on Gabriel Jesus.
TBR’s view: Scamacca firmly a back-up option for Arsenal
It is obvious that Arsenal want to sign Gabriel Jesus. But the mention of the Arsenal coaching staff being unsure of Scamacca is interesting nonetheless.
He is, as the report says, a very different attacker to those already reviewed. He is a bigger unit of a striker and may not have the movement or trickery of a Gabriel Jesus.
Of course, that’s not to say Scamacca wouldn’t succeed in England. He is only 23 years old, and in time he could become one of the best in Europe. But Arsenal need someone on loan here and now, so it’s easy to see where those doubts at London Colney are coming from.
