Erik ten Hag’s arrival at Manchester United breathed life into the club, despite the disappointment of missing out on Champions League football.
Ralf Rangnick’s six-month tenure at the helm of the team was ugly to watch and his decision to step down from the originally agreed two-year advisory role made matters worse.
Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt worked with Ten Hag while at Ajax and the 22-year-old has now detailed his former manager’s management style, insisting he has the tools to succeed at United.
“He is someone who loves his job and he loves to work” De Ligt is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard. “He’s really into the details. This makes him a very good coach.
“He has a lot of qualities (to succeed). We’ll have to see how he goes. It definitely improves players. He wants to do everything to make his team play better.
