Kendrick Perkins criticizes Gregg Popovich’s coaching style: “Kevin Durant could do the same as Luka Doncic, but all of you Greg Pop made them play ‘system’ basketball.”

Kendrick Perkins needed to get some things out of the way after Team USA succumbed to France in the opening game of the Olympics on Sunday morning. The team didn’t look good. They missed a lot of shots and failed to protect the ball against a dangerous rival.

The former center had something to say this morning after watching a masterpiece by Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic. The 22-year-old left for Argentina, dropping 48 points (31 in the first half), 11 rebounds and 5 assists.

KP really liked what Luka did, but always claimed that Kevin Durant could have similar performances if Gregg Popovich stopped using “system” basketball.

“My God. The crazy thing is Kevin Durant could do the same thing, but y’all Greg Pop made them play SYSTEM basketball. The truth hurts!!! Carry on…”

Truth be told, recent reports suggest that several Team USA players aren’t happy with Popovich’s tactics. Therefore, you know that this problem must be solved as soon as possible if the team wants to win the gold medal.

Durant finished the season opener with 10 points on 4 of 12 shooting, which raised eyebrows.

The next match, the American team will play against Iran, trying to show something different in front of a rival who should not give them problems. Again, like Patrick Ewing, the rest of the world has caught up with the United States, so they must take this challenge very seriously.
