MI Emirates announce coaching staff for ILT20, Shane Bond appointed as Head Coach

MI Emirates have announced their coaching staff for the first-ever UAE International T20 League season. The Bombay IndiansThe franchise appointed Shane Bond as head coach of the team, giving him another responsibility under their brand in addition to his role with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL as a bowling coach.

Mumbai Indians talent scout Parthiv Patel will act as batting coach for the team making his debut in the role, and Vinay Kumar will join him as bowling coach. Former Mumbai Indians player and all-rounder James Franklin will serve as the team’s coach. Apart from this, former Indian All-Round Player and Director of UAE Cricket Robin Singh will join MI Emirates as Managing Director, Cricket.

Shane Bond joined the Mumbai Indians in 2015, and since then has helped the team win four championships, develop a strong work style and help bowlers reach their full potential on the international stage. Since joining the Mumbai Indians coaching staff in 2010, Robin Singh has featured in five IPL seasons and two Champions League seasons while frequently collaborating with Shane Bond.

Robin’s involvement in UAE cricket will be beneficial as the UAE plans to expand their brand of cricket in the UAE. Parthiv Patel, who previously represented Mumbai Indians, has been a member of the talent scouting team since 2020, while Vinay Kumar, another former Mumbai Indians player, joined Patel in the scouting team in 2021 .

Ahead of the inaugural UAE International League T20, MI Emirates unveiled its lineup. The team, which will be based in Abu Dhabi, will consist of former and current MI players as well as new emerging stars of the game.
