The NSW Government is highlighting the importance of healthy workplaces for mental health, with SafeWork NSW partnering with Sydney FC to provide companies with free coaching resources.
Fair Trade Minister Eleni Petinos said nearly one in six Australians suffer from mental health issues at work.
“I am delighted that Sydney FC has partnered with SafeWork NSW to help raise awareness of mental health in the workplace with the new campaign – Coaching, Training, Success!” said Ms. Petinos.
“Sydney FC understands how education and coaching plays a vital role on and off the pitch, and is taking proactive measures such as flexible working arrangements, workload management and ensuring that staff and players have a work-life balance.
“There is an urgent need for small business owners to create sustainable and mentally healthy workplaces, especially as more and more workers return to the office.”
Mental Health Minister Bronnie Taylor said the campaign will highlight the positive impact training and coaching can have on workplace culture.
“Mental health is just as important as physical health. That’s why the NSW Government is offering free, one-on-one business coaching, delivered by the Black Dog Institute,” Ms Taylor said.
Each company can access up to four hours of free coaching online or by phone. Coaching targets mental health issues such as bullying, stress or change. For more information go to Workplace Mental Health – Free training and coaching.
