Southeastern adds Mike Randle to its coaching staff

HAMMOND, Louisiana – Experienced junior college coach Mike Randle joined the men’s basketball coaching staff at Southeastern Louisiana University as an assistant coach, head Lion coach David Kiefer announced Monday.

Randle’s hiring is pending approval from the University of Louisiana System Supervisory Board.

“Coach Randle is another home run for our program,” commented Kiefer. “Mike has had a ton of success as an assistant coach at the college and prep school levels. We expect him to have an immediate positive impact with his energy and work ethic. his enthusiasm for helping players improve and developing his own knowledge and teaching skills for the game.”

Randle’s last practice stop was at Indian River State College, where he helped the team win the 2022 Southern Conference Championship. of conference Charlie Wilson, Randle coached first-team All-American and NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Year AJ Cadjuste, who highlighted a pool of seven all-conference selections.

Prior to his move to CIHR, Randle spent the 2020-21 season at Kilgore College, helping the team to the Region XIV Mid-South Tournament Championship and a National Tournament appearance.

Randle was part of Cornerstone Christian’s staff in 2019-20 after beginning his coaching career at DME Sports Academy. Four of its players went on to play at the Division I level.

A 2015 Eastern New Mexico State kinesiology graduate, Randle played two seasons for the Greyhounds. The Houston, Texas native began his collegiate playing career at Paris Junior College, helping his team win a Region XIV Conference Championship.

The Lions will open the 2022-23 season in early November and announce its full schedule in the coming weeks. The league schedule has been announced with SLU traveling to Nicholls to open SLC play on December 15.
